Mountain Music Show 6/5/12

With the 10th Annual Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention coming up this weekend on Friday and Saturday, we wanted to do a show featuring Henry's son James Reed. James was a great old-time guitar player who died on April 30 at the age of 87. He was the son who played the most with Henry and who has done the most to carry on Henry's tunes and styles. This show has an assortment of home recordings and studio tracks that have James on guitar. Most of the home recordings were taken from videos that are now available on YouTube from the WNRV (WNRVam990), Chris Via (chrisvia1), and Neil Turner (BanjoNeil) channels.

James was also a good fiddler player as well as a fiddler maker, he donated one of his fiddles each year for a raffle for the fiddlers convention.

WNRV will on-site again for both days of the festival this year. We'll bring you the featured bands live on Friday night starting at 5 PM and then some of the individual and bands competitions throughout the day on Saturday.
