The Great Outdoors Expo 2012 is right around the corner on Labor Day Weekend in Glen Lyn, Virginia.
Friday August 31 Noon - til dark
Saturday Sept 1 Farmers Market opens at 7 Expo opens at 9 and will go until 5 (so far)
We are looking forward to interacting largely with Southwestern Virginia and West Virginia residents in the Monroe and Mercer County areas and believe you are just the right fit for the Expo.
The Line Up thus Far: Jason Rutledge of Healing Harvest Forest Foundation and Ben Harris of Sinking Creek Horse Logging will be putting on Horse Logging seminar/demonstrations, there will also be a horse-pulling contest, antique tractor pull, Farmers Market, cooking demonstrations, bee keeping, 4-H Exhibitors, petting zoo, goat show, horsemanship demonstrations, Driftin' Westwood Band, turkey calling contest, tree stand safety, soil and water conservation, and many more farm, forest and water related demos and seminars.
We currently have participation by: Virginia Farm Bureau Young Farmers, Giles County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, Beginning Farmer & Rancher Coalition, Giles County Master Gardeners, 4-H Extension Office, Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries K9 Unit, Frontline Motorsports, and Mountain Lake Conservancy.
