Mountain Music Show 10/28/14

This week the Mountain Music Show featured an assortment of recordings from the famous Bristol Sessions in 1927 and 1928 (aka the Big Bang of Country Music). I had a couple of Carter Family shows this year (8/19/14 and 10/21/14), but wanted to play a set of Bristol Session recordings that did not involve the Carter Family (or Jimmie Rodgers) so that you can appreciate the variety of artists that participated.

West Virginia Coon Hunters - Your Blue Eyes Run Me Crazy
Tenneva Ramblers - Sweet Heaven When I Die
Ernest Stoneman, Irma Frost, & (Uncle) Eck Dunford - Mountaineer's Courtship
Mr and Mrs J.W. Baker - On the Banks of the Sunny Tennessee

Shelor Family - Billy Grimes The Rover
B.F. Shelton - Pretty Polly
Henry Whitter - Rain Crow Bill
Johnson Brothers - The Soldier's Poor Little Boy
