This week I had a collection of classic old-time fiddle tunes for the Mountain Music Show. I got the idea while reading the liner notes for the brand new CD "You Can't Beat the Classics!" from Alan Jabbour, Ken Perlman, and Jim Watson. I thought that was a great theme for this week's show.
Jabbour, Perlman, and Watson - Old Joe Clark
Lester and Linda McCumbers - Fire on the Mountain
The Red Fox Chasers - The Arkansas Traveler
Corn Cob Crushers - Ragtime Annie
Henry Reed - George Booker
Sutphin and Levy - June Apple
Fred Cockerham and Oscar Jenkins - Sally Ann
Indian Run Stringband - Billy in the Lowground
Frank George and David O'Dell - Sugar in the Gourd
Rutherford, Burnett, and Moore - Cumberland Gap
Crooked Road Ramblers - Forked Deer
Eck Robertson - Sally Goodin'
Kessinger Brothers - Soldiers Joy
Emmet Lundy - Mississippi Sawyer
Giles Mountain String Band - Stony Point
Roscoe P and Coal Train - Joke on the Puppy (aka Rye Straw; Live NRV Jamboree 06-25-11)
Glen Smith and the Mountain State Pickers - Paddy on the Turnpike
Bruce Clark and The Sawmill Band - Cotton-Eye Joe
Frank Dalton and George Wood - Hop Light Ladies
