Another one down, one to go

The Hokies ACC Championship hopes were ruined by the back-to-back losses to Ga Tech & UNC, but they appear to be ready to finish strong. A victory over an overmatched NC State team today was expected, hopefully they can do the same in Charlottesville next week. That will likely be Al Groh's last game at UVa, you gotta deliver some quality wins to keep your job these days.

As usual, Cody Grimm was all over the place. He caused 3 fumbles on the 1st 5 offensive plays by NC State & added a sack to boot (as well as several special teams tackles). He had a fitting Senior Day. I was hoping that Greg Boone would have a big day also, his senior season has unfortunately not been that productive. His couple of plays in the Wild Turkey formation did not result in much & he got drilled on one of his runs. Actually, none of the Tech tight ends have had much success this year, the tight end has not been a significant part of the offense (other than blocking).

Ryan Williams continues to impress (4 TDs today), it'll be interesting next year when Evans comes back (with Wilson also waiting in the wings). The TD run where Williams was dragging the defender for 5 yards was very nice (even though it looked like his knee was down before he crossed the goal line).

As much as I hate to see Groh

As much as I hate to see Groh go we need a big win next week. Cody Grimm should be the defensive player of the year in the ACC. He is everywhere and makes things happen on defense and special teams. I always thought they charged for towing in Blacksburg but Ryan Williams was doing for free in Lane today.

Yeah that was a heck of a run

Yeah that was a heck of a run by Williams. That was power.
