Chick fil-a Bowl

Well it is official VT will face Tennessee in the Chick fil-a Bowl which will always be the Peach to me. I can not get into all of these sponsor names for the bowls. This is a very good match-up for both teams with a lot on the line. These schools recruit the same areas and Beamer has wanted a shot at them to help with that. The last time we faced them it did not go so well but they had a pretty descent QB then, oh what was his name, maybe Peyton Manning. Well Peyton is making commercials now so we don't have to worry about him.

3rd time is a charm?
This will be the 3rd game Tech plays at the Georgia Dome this year, & the other 2 did not go so well.
Neither Tech nor Tenn has wanted to give up a home game to set up a series during the regular season. The owner of Bristol Speedway has always wanted to have a Tech-Tenn game on the infield of the track, but I'm not sure that is ever going to happen.
I was at that Gator Bowl in 1994 & it was not pretty. Tenn was up 35-7 in 2nd quarter. The game was played at the Swamp (Univ. of Fla field) because the Jacksonville stadium was still under construction for the Jaguars.
My brother-in-law went to Tenn & his son (& I) went to Tech, so this should make for some interesting Xmas discussions.
