2012 Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention

The Tenth Annual Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention was held in Glen Lyn, VA on June 8-9, 2012. This festival honors the life and music of local old-time fiddler Henry Reed and is proud to reach the decade mark!

Update: Check out all of this year’s competition winners at the bottom of the page!

Some videos from this year have been uploaded to the WNRV YouTube channel. There is also a playlist there for videos from various years.

Friday’s activities began at 5 PM with a set of featured bands: the Reed Family Band, the Crooked Road Ramblers, and State Line Bluegrass. Individual and band competitions were held on Saturday. Alan Jabbour offered a 2-day fiddle workshop from 10-12 on Friday and Saturday morning.

WNRV was on-site to broadcast hours of great live music from the festival on both days.

More information on the festival is available at the Henry Reed Convention Facebook page. Contact us if you have any questions about the festival.

The Crooked Road recently announced that the Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Convention is now an official Crooked Road Affiliated Festival: press release.

WNRV will partner with the Henry Reed festival again in 2012 to offer a special combined advertising deal. New WNRV customers that take a full-page advertisement in the official Henry Reed festival booklet will receive a discount rate for their WNRV advertising.
