2023 Henry Reed Memorial Celebration

The 2023 Henry Reed Memorial Celebration will be held at Kairos Wilderness Resort in Glen Lyn, VA on June 8-10, 2023. This honors the life and music of local old-time fiddler Henry Reed.

The event will be done as a weekend celebration and get-together rather than a formal fiddlers convention with featured bands and competitions. We have reserved part of a large field where we can camp, play music, and share fellowship all weekend.

We will host a community potluck cookout on Saturday evening at 6 PM, all are welcome to join in the fun!

There is no fee for admission. The only fees are for camping (paid to Kairos, both are discounted rates): $15 per night per spot for the field (tent or camper) and $25 per night per spot for camper with full hookup in the formal campground. Note there are a limited number of these full hookup spots available. Either way you’ll still have access to the Kairos bathhouse with showers.

No advance registration is required for camping with us in the field (whether tent or camper), you’ll register at the Kairos’ office when you arrive. But if you want one of the few full hookup sites we’ve reserved, you need to reserve this in advance by calling them at (540) 235-2777 and tell them you’re with the Henry Reed Celebration to get a discounted rate on one of our reserved spots. All of these spots are near each other in the section closest to the field.
